One thing you MUST NOT do on your CV
It takes 10-15 seconds for a potential employer/ recruitment agency to decide if they want to short list you for a job/interview.
There are lots of CV tips that I can help you with, but after looking at a lot of CVs that have made the same mistake this week I feel I must share this with you.
If you have such a short period of time to get your foot in the door, why would you want your potential employer/ recruitment agency see what you did 10 years ago on your first page?
I have lost count the CV's I have seen that have the first ever job on the first page of their CV.
I'm looking for a sales executive in Wakefield and on searching for the right person why would I need to see that a potentially perfect candidate worked on a saturday in 2001 at their local paper shop before seeing that they are currently a sales executive and have been since 2009?
My agency does spend time looking through CV's but not many employers have the time to do this, and some agencies don't either. So who is missing out? YOU!!! YOU are, stop it.
Put your most recent job first not the one from years ago and if you need to share some skills from an old job they get it in your profile or as your Key Skills on the first page of your CV.
Don't miss out on that perfect job change your CV NOW!!
